MUNIRA is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) professional and holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from the Yorkville University, New Brunswick, CANADA.
I immigrated to Canada from South East Asia more than 15 years ago therefore I can resonate with emotional challenges and struggles faced by immigrants while trying to settle down in Canada. Since I have lived in Canada for many years and grew up within the South Asian culture, I am well versed with both eastern and western culture meaning I can resonate with inter-cultural challenges faced by individuals while trying to find a place in cultural identity. I have a good understanding of intragenerational conflict therefore I can resonate with individuals facing challenges due to generation gaps. I have personally experienced challenges while studying full time and working full time therefore I am well versed with emotional challenges an individual would encounter during life transitions.
Professionally, I have provided individual counselling to clients from diverse ethnocultural background dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, problem solving, procrastination, self-assertiveness, cognitive reframing, life transitions, concussion, grief, and anger management.
